I definitely hadn't seen the bicycle tools at those prices and that definitely closes some of the gap between the regular and the bicycle tools.

I'll add an amendment to the article. They were maybe double what you could get a set of crappy hex keys for at a discount retailer, but in addition to being infinitely higher in quality, also offered more range and the colour coding is a nice touch. I've still got Park hexes in my vehicle toolbox but these are a real joy to use.

I believe that Abbey tools does a similar thing on their allens. At least the ones I have have similar cutouts and shape. There is no way a hex wrench with such a handle is more comfortable Wrenches with a sliding T-handle are great, but the L-shaped one is just fine as well.

You're certainly entitled to your own opinion on the matter. However, as a person who recently bruised their hand trying to remove a DUB crankset with a Park P-handle, I don't agree. I am near certain that the same thing wouldn't have happened with these wrenches.

Does that matter with a 2. Probably not. But on the larger sizes, these feel way nicer on your hand when you're applying a whole bunch of leverage. I wound up having to get my breaker bar out to get that crankset off, so it was all a bunch of wasted effort. But it would have been hand friendlier wasted effort with the Wera's. Yes, those dub cranks can be a bear to remove. I ended up making a dedicated tool using a good quality Allen key and a long pipe. Getting back to your article, I am a fan of wera tools.

I really appreciate it that they are extra long for increased leverage. Not long enough for the dub cranks tho haha. I bought a kit that comes with a ratchet very similar to the Set 1, but with a key difference. Instead of the fancy ergo handle, it has a boring round shaft - with a plain magnetic socket in the end. Only gripe is the bit quality, but I've replaced most of the stock ones, and now I'm frantically searching for Hex Plus loose bits.

Very recently bought a set of Hex keys- non bike specific. Used them the a couple of times so far and coming from Husky tools can definitely see the value in these. Words Dave Tolnai.
